Loving the heat...

Yes - It's hot.

Yesterday it reached 45 degrees as I drove home from work and overnight the mercury didn't drop below 28 in Melbourne. Yikes!
I love the summer, but these hot hot days? Well, it IS a little too hot, even for my liking.

But I refuse to complain. I can't help but complain when it's cold (I REALLY hate being cold), but being hot? Well, it's better than being cold!

It seems everyone is complaining. Power cuts, transportation woes (200 train cancellations yesterday) and impatient drivers. Worst of all (and worthy of worry) the threat of bushfires sit heavily in the air.

And whilst everyone is moaning about lack of sleep and melting ice-cream, my frangipani is LOVING it. It is enjoying a spurt of growth and is full of green leaves. At the moment it is spending all of it's energy on leaves and stretching it's branches. If only it would flower!

Oh what I would give to have even so much as one foot in that heat right now! But I'm sure you knew that. :)

It's getting there Cinta, it's getting there.

The branches have grown an inch this week. There are now two flower heads that I can see...

I love the heat too and feel just the same about the cold. Three days of over 40 are a little more than I'd like though...

Good luck with the frangipani flowering! It's a heavenly fragrance.

Mine has flowers but very few leaves. Maybe we could get them to talk and reach a happy medium. I'd love a few more of those lovely big waxy green leaves on mine!

I'm so your opposite. I love the cold and can't stand the heat!

Once your frangipani do flower you'll be inundated with that wonderful scent that they have! Lucky girl.

The flowers are stunning. I am going to see if I can buy some of those anywhere. Probably not. They are beautiful.

I am glad you are okay, because I was getting worried about my friends in Australia because of the temperatures. Sounds horrible to me.

Yeah, what's happened? It's like the country has been turned up the other way. All the southern states are melting. We're in Northern NSW, and while it's been hot, it's been nowhere near as bad as you guys have had it. Urgh, hope it breaks for a day or so soon.

It's beautiful!!! I'm not a fan of summer at all - but then I heard about the weather in the UK - EEP! Having only seen snow once in my life, I'm not sure I could live with it everywhere!! That said, I'm sick of my car steeringwheel being too hot to touch too! Bring on Autumn and Spring :D

We are in the grip of the heaviest snowfall for eighteen years! It's beautiful, but I'd love a bit of sunshine for a change. I'm so not jealous of your 40 plus temperature...much!

Funny, now the heat wave is behind us, I'm kinda missing it...Sad but true...it seemed to unite people with the shared experience of going through the last week of 'extreme' heat... I would have commented earlier but was melting everytime I sat in front of the computer...I loved your post it had such a positive spin and a beautiful photo too!

Thanks for the comment... but you have had quite a few other things going on in your life, so it's understandable that you wouldn't be blogging as much.

That said, I love reading what you write so if you started writing more, I certainly wouldn't be complaining!
